DIY Couture Spiked Strappy Heels
What you’ll need:
Strappy heels with a wide enough strap that the spikes will fit on it.
Screw on spikes, I recommend
An adjustable leather punch (Home depot $12)
Paper
Tape
Ball point pen
Sharpie
Screwdriver
1. Cut a piece of paper the same size as the strap.
2. Lat it out and trace around the spikes where you’d like them to lay. mark the centers with the sharpie.
3. Tape the paper to the strap but make sure to check that the sides and center dot are lined up where you want them.
2. Lat it out and trace around the spikes where you’d like them to lay. mark the centers with the sharpie.
4. Punch out the centers, using a size that’s smaller than the screw size- you want it to be tight so it’s not shaking around while you walk. Make sure you hold the top and bottom of the strap while you punch and make sure it feels like it’s right in the center of the strap, not higher or lower.
5. Push the bottom screws threw and attach the spike top. Use a screwdriver to tighten. (You can also use a glue called Thread lock, between the screw and spike which prevents them from loosening. )
6. Repeat…
NOTE: I used the same piece of paper and attached it to the second shoe so that the spikes would be the exact same widths apart on both shoes. Again, make sure you align the center and sides and flip the paper so it’s mirrored, instead of sliding it over.
