Painted Glass Luminaries
Here's what you need:
- glass jars/candle holders (mine are "fishbowl jars" from the craft store, priced at $2.99 and $3.99)
- white multipurpose acrylic paint
- sponge brush
- tape (painter's or masking)
- tea lights
Step One: Starting with a clean jar, tape a straight line around the bottom quarter of your jar. Run your fingernail along the edge of your tape to ensure there are no gaps.
Step Two: Stand jar upside down and paint a thing coat below the tape and across the bottom of jar. Allow to dry for 20 minutes (or until completely dry).
Step Three: Repeat step two until bottom quarter of jar is covered with paint (I applied 5 coats to mine), and allow to dry.
Step Four: Flip jar over, place tea light inside, and enjoy! Wait a month before cleaning jar with soap or water.
